We take safeguarding seriously and recognise our responsibility to protect the welfare of all participants, particularly those under the age of 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are an independent group <strong>run by players for players<\/strong>, but our approach is guided by UK safeguarding legislation and the policies of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Essex County Cricket Club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We believe that <strong>safeguarding is everyone&#8217;s responsibility<\/strong>; therefore, we expect <strong>all<\/strong> members, staff, volunteers and partner organisations to understand, respect and uphold our policies and principles, and to report any concerns at the earliest opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Code of Conduct<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All Members Must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Read and agree to this policy as part of joining 21 Not Out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Treat others with respect, kindness and dignity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use appropriate language and behaviour.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid bullying, harassment or discrimination of any kind.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Report any safeguarding concerns to our Designated Safeguarding Contact or the Essex Cricket County Safeguarding Officers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anyone responsible for leading, supporting or delivering 21 not out events and activities must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain appropriate boundaries with all members, particularly those under 18.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure communication is relevant, appropriate, and where possible, conducted in group settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid private one-to-one communication with under 18s unless necessary, and ensure it remains appropriate and transparent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid forming relationships with under-18 members that could be considered inappropriate or outside the context of the group.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online Safety and Communication<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To help protect all members, particularly those under 18:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Communication will take place via approved group chats within the official 21 Not Out WhatsApp Community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Every Individual who has access to the WhatsApp Community will be an approved member of 21 Not Out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Members must not send inappropriate, offensive or harmful content<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Respectful and Appropriate behaviour is expected on all online spaces associated with 21 Not Out<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Private, one-to-one messaging between adults (18+) and under 18s is strongly discouraged<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any concerns arising from online activity should be reported immediately<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where appropriate, <strong>group chats may include a mix of under-18 and over-18 members,<\/strong> primarily for communication relating to an upcoming event. These spaces will be expected to remain appropriate, respectful, and safe for all, and <strong>they will be monitored<\/strong> to ensure this is the case. Members can join or leave these groups at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will also be permanent group chats that separate under-18 members from over-18 members. The membership of these group chats is regulated to ensure that members are within the correct chat for their age group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Media and Social Media Consent<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Photos, videos or other media from events and activities may be used on 21 Not Out&#8217;s social media accounts (Instagram and TikTok) and promotional materials.\u202f<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No images or videos of any members will be used without explicit consent provided on the registration form<\/strong>. Members under the age of 18 must also have parental\/guardian consent, which is also provided on the registration form. Members can request that an image or video be removed at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before posting and communicating on social media, privacy and safety considerations will be observed in line with the ECB Safe Hands Policy on Social Media, Online Communication and Online Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members should behave respectfully and safely on all platforms connected to 21 Not Out, and any interaction that causes concern can be reported under this policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Safeguarding Under 18 Members<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following policies apply to all Members under the age of 18:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You must be <strong>at least 16 years of age<\/strong> to become a 21 Not Out Member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must have consent from your parent or guardian before joining 21 Not Out. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upon providing parental consent, it is assumed that both you and your guardian have read these policies, and understand the nature of the events, communication and organisation of 21 Not Out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consent is confirmed on the registration form and may be reaffirmed via email if needed to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the member.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency Contact Details must be provided on the registration form. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reporting a Safeguarding Concern<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Otherwise, report any safeguarding concerns immediately to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>21 Not Out Safeguarding Contact<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Francesca Howgego<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Person or via Email: support@21notout.com<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Safeguarding Contact is responsible for receiving and passing on concerns but not for investigating them; serious matters will be referred to the appropriate authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">OR<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Safeguarding Officers at Essex County Cricket Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Email: safeguarding@essexcricket.org.uk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Telephone: 07717 728725<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All concerns will be taken seriously and passed on to the appropriate safeguarding authorities where necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Policy Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This safeguarding policy will be reviewed annually, or sooner if required, to ensure it remains up to date with UK legislation, as well as the policies of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Essex County Cricket Club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Safeguarding Statement At 21 Not Out, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all of our members.
